Volcan Cosiguina - Surrounding area
A major tourist attraction this inactive volcano gets many visitors from US and Europe during the year. It is located at the back of the property about 10 miles away. A wide variety of birds, deer and other wildlife live in the area. The surrounding area has a lot of bird watching. Parrots and Macaws live here along with deer and they are protected inside a National park. Many tour operators visit the area for bird watching, horseback riding or to climb the inactive volcano Cosiguina
Chinandega
Right across from the property there are small shops to buy food supplies etc,
The closest big town is Chinandega about 1.5 hours from the property. Chinandega has restaurants, supermarkets, schools and a population of about 300,000.

The property has no stagnant water or mangroves so insects can not reproduce.

Is it SAFE to TRAVEL & LIVE in Nicaragua ?
The area of Cosiguina is designated as a tourist area and is extremely safe.
The area is nice and quiet and very few people pass by.

We will offer fishing tours throughout the local waters. Sportfishing for tuna, marlin, rooster fish etc.
ACCESSIBILITY
You first fly to Managua from the US. Managua is reached directly from Miami and Houston or Los Angeles by "American Airlines", "Continental", "Iberia" or "Taca".
The property can be reached from the Managua International airport in a 3 hour drive.
Or, you can fly to Managua and we will arrange the rest of your trip.

The property used to be a cattle farm and the previous owner also used to grow crops such as peanuts (mani)
